Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) provided youngsters with demand-based and industry-relevant skills to improve their employability and transform the State into India’s skill hub.
TNSDC is the State’s Nodal Agency for skill development-related activities, and it aims to bring together the efforts of a variety of stakeholders, including businesses, trade associations, training partners, sector skill councils, and assessment agencies, as well as other State and federal government agencies. In addition, TamilNadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) works with business and government training partners to ensure placement-oriented quality skill training.
Implementation Of National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF)
TamilNadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) strictly adheres to the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) established business roles and other conventional parameters like course duration, quality standards, assessment methodology, and payment milestones based on common norms approved by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India to have uniform curriculum standards throughout the State and the country. In addition, for delivering training programmes, the National Skill Development Corporation(NSDC) has issued Qualification Packs(QP) intending to assure a minimum of 70% placement for all successfully trained and certified applicants.
Independent Assessment And Certification Of Training Programmes
The State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT) and the related Sector Skill Council conduct third-party independent assessment and certification to assure the quality of training programmes (SSC). This opens the path for a fair and unbiased certification and assessment process.
Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) Skill Registry
Successful candidates will be added to the Tennessee Skill Registry, which will serve as the State’s repository of talented individuals and be accessible to private companies registered in the TN Private Job Portal. This will ensure that students who have completed short-term skill training can find work right away.

During the COVID-19 crisis, the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) has partnered with the online learning portal Coursera to train 50,000 unemployed youth. The collaboration is part of Coursera’s global rollout of the “Workforce Recovery Initiative,” which allows any state or country to give free online learning to unemployed employees.
“Through the project, almost 4,000 Coursera courses will be made available. TamilNadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) managing director V. Vishnu remarked, “The courses are spread throughout eight industries.” “Those who enrol in the courses will receive professional qualifications such as the Google IT Support Professional Certificate,” he added. Data science, cloud computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things are among the high-demand talents that the programme wants to foster among the youth.

A virtual Job Fair
